How much more rain?
Smart Dust particles, are small smart materials used for generating weather maps. We investigate question of the optimal number of Smart Dust particles necessary for generating precise, computationally feasible and cost effective 3–D weather maps. We also give an optimal matching algorithm for the generalized scenario, when there are N Smart Dust particles and M ground receivers.

The non-usury law approved in 1983 is in agreement with the divine law which forbids usury. Regardless of how the loan applicant will use the financial facilities, usury banking grants loan to the households to buy their consumers' goods, and to the corporates to make investment. In contrast, the Islamic banking system grants loan based on a specific mechanism, which is the main advantage of s...
متن کاملHow much do you believe?
This paper responds to a number of criticisms of Dempster-Shafer theory made by Judea Pearl. He criticises Dempster-Shafer belief for not obeying the laws of Bayesian belief," however, these laws lead to well-known problems in the face of ignorance, and seem unreasonably restrictive. It is argued that it is not reasonable to expect a measure of belief to obey Pearl's sandwich principle. The sta...
متن کاملHow much do Workers Search ?
In this paper, I consider four determinants of wages: productivity, workers’ bargaining power, competition between employers due to on-the-job search, and search intensity by workers. Workers can increase their job offer arrival rate through costly search. Employers take into consideration the search intensity choices of their employees when the two parties jointly set wages. Using a Nash barga...
متن کاملHow Much Randomness Makes a Tool Randomized?
Most of presently used academic logic synthesis tools, including SIS and ABC, are fully deterministic. Up to the knowledge of the authors, this holds for all available commercial tools as well. This means that no random decisions are made; the algorithms fully rely on deterministic heuristics. In this paper we present several hints of insufficiency of such an approach and show examples of persp...
